Q: When I buy an album, what do I get?

A: You get great music! After payment, a zip file is posted to your account. Additionally, you can download printable inserts, high quality album artwork, and lyrics (for some albums).

Q: I purchased one of your albums on iTunes, and but I didn't get the inserts.

A: No problem. Just create an account, log in and go to the album page on this site, of the one you purchased. Click on the "Media"-tab and you'll find the inserts. You need to be logged in to print the inserts.

Q: But the fact sheets are free?

A: Actually, all accompanying materials are free, even if you bought the music somewhere else. But you don't need an account to print the fact sheet.

Q: CDDL, what's that?

A: It's a full quality CD download, actually a little higher quality than CDs. Since many of our traditional CDs are now sold out, we decided to sell the same quality as a download. When you burn the music to a CD-R, you get the same sound quality as if you purchased a CD. Traditional CDs deteriorate after 10-15 years, start skipping and create errors. Although the life span of a CD-R is shorter, we keep a copy for you on your page, and you can download it again when the CD-R doesn't work anymore.

Q: How much better is CDDL compared to MP3?

A: In terms of sound it's always up to a personal opinion, but many say the quality difference is remarkable. The CDDL files are originals, and the MP3s are converted from the CDDL version. It all depends on your preferences. CDDL is the full quality for all purposes, and the MP3 is an inexpensive, small, and compatible file for all, even older devices. Both sound good, but for the careful listener, CDDL is superior.

Q: Do you sell individual songs?

A: At this time we don't, largely due to our respect toward several artists who consider an album to be an indivisible entirety. Unlike in pop music, our artists produce a whole album of valuable music, not just one "hit song".

Q: What's your privacy policy?

A: We don't sell any of your info, and we only have your name and email address. Your password is encrypted, and only you know. We don't collect any demographic data. Read more about our privacy policy under the "Privacy"-tab on our Info-page.

Q: I forgot my password, or want to change it.

A: We have adopted the highest security system. You will need to unregister and then reregister your account. Your purchased albums will be intact when your reregistration is complete.

Q: Do you store my credit card information? Is it secure?

A: We don't take part in any credit card info at all. PayPal takes care of all payments.

Q: Do I need a PayPal account as well?

A: No, PayPal accepts all major credit cards and you can pay the same way as on any website. If you have a PayPal account, you can use your PayPal money to pay for your albums.

Q: Why do I have to have an account before buying?

A: It's to make things more secure for you. Buy creating an account, your email is verified, and a possible typo of your email address is prevented at the time you click albums into your shopping cart. Everything will work more smoothly. We also have other features, such as the Tell-A-Friend feature, which require the customer to identify himself (in order to avoid spam), and we think it's a good idea to generally be logged in if you have an account. We have plans to develop the experience for those who are logged in, compared to those who only browse around.

Q: Do you know what I am doing when logged in?

A: No, not at all. We're not interested in your clicking beyond the albums you buy. You're just as anonymous as if you weren't logged in. But if you purchased albums before, you'll see no Google ads, which makes the site a nicer experience.

Q: I paid for my albums, but can't see them on my page.

A: If you forgot to click the "Download Your Music Now" on PayPal's page, the albums are not automatically inserted. You will get them the next business day, however. There's no need to contact PayPal for this.

Q: I want you to send me a CD instead of a download.

A: We don't sell traditional, mailable CD packages directly from our site. The CDDL is a CD quality download, which you can burn on a CD-R and print inserts for. Some albums are still available on CD.

Q: How long will my purchased albums stay on my account?

A: Forever. Once purchased they will be there.

Q: A zip file? I thought the music is an mp3 file.

A: The zip file is the "envelope of a letter", or the packaging format of the music file. You will need extraction software to open the zip file. Most computers today come with Stuffit Expander or WinZip. However, some Windows Vista users experience problems with large zip files. Therefore we recommend Stuffit Expander.

Q: Apple iTunes is planning to move to a cloud-based service, and may slowly eliminate downloads. What are your plans?

A: We're not following Lala/iTunes on that, since we realize there are many places where music will still be needed offline. We also believe that since you purchased an album, much like an LP, we give it to you to go without having to be in touch with our site when listening to the music. We're not controlling your moves.

Q: My download stopped in the middle. What should I do?

A: If you can't resume downloading, you need to start over. You can download the file several times. Some CDDL albums are larger than 500 MB and may take a while to download. You will, however, have the file on your page for later download, so there's no hurry. Some Windows Vista users may experience problems with large files. We admit this may be frustrating as all our files are considered "big", starting at about 30 MB up to 1 GB. Unfortunately, we don't have a fix for Windows Vista as this is a technical error on the operating system and not on our site. Fortunately, Windows 7 works better, and Windows XP as well.

Q: I downloaded the file, but it didn't open.

A: You may not have downloaded the entire file, or your Windows computer is trying to expand the file with WinZip. We recommend Stuffit Expander which usually takes care of the problem, even on Windows Vista.

Q: My computer crashed and I lost all music.

A: We hope you had a backup for all other important files, but don't worry about the music you purchased. When you log in to your account next time, all your music is stored and you can download them again.

Q: I created an account but I can't log in even if I'm sure I entered the right password.

A: If you're using any operating system earlier than Windows XP or Mac OS X, we cannot guarantee our site works perfectly. It's a trade-off between security and backward compatibility, and we have chosen to be more secure.

Q: Which browsers work best on your site?

A: Any standard compliant browser works. Mozilla/Firefox 2 or later and Safari 4 work great. Chrome works as well. Unfortunately IE has occasional trouble. We do not support or troubleshoot inconsistencies between IE and the Windows OS.
